Golden Pantry Announces Raze and Rebuild of Greensboro Store on East Broad Street

Store to Close January 30 for Complete Reconstruction; Employees Transferring to Nearby Locations

GREENSBORO, GA – January 26, 2026 – Golden Pantry Food Stores announces plans to raze and rebuild its Greensboro location at 315 E Broad St, with the current store closing on January 30, 2026, to make way for a completely new facility.

“We’re committed to Greensboro and Greene County for the long term,” said Robert Griffith, CEO of Golden Pantry Food Stores. “This raze and rebuild represents a significant investment in this community. We’re creating a modern facility that will better serve our customers’ needs for years to come.”

The family-owned company, which has been serving Georgia since 1965, will transfer all current employees to other Golden Pantry locations in the area during the construction period, ensuring no team members lose their jobs during the transition. Golden Pantry operates three stores in Greensboro, including locations at 2310 S Main St and 6131 Lake Oconee Pkwy.

Golden Pantry has deep roots in Greene County, demonstrated through its ongoing support of local organizations. Through the company’s Be Golden Fund—a community grant program partially funded by customer round-ups at the register—Golden Pantry awarded nearly $200,000 in grants to organizations across northeast Georgia in 2026, including support for the Boys and Girls Club of Greene County.

“We’re grateful to our customers for supporting this mission,” said Katie Morris, Director of Marketing. “The Be Golden Fund is our way of giving back to the communities that have supported us for decades. We’re proud to partner with organizations like the Boys and Girls Club of Greene County that are making a real difference in young people’s lives.”

“Supporting communities like Greensboro is core to who we are as a company,” said Griffith. “From our signature made-from-scratch biscuits to our community partnerships, we’re proud to be your trusted neighborhood store.”

The new Greensboro location will feature expanded fueling options, a full deli with breakfast and lunch service, and modern amenities designed to better serve customers. Construction timelines and a grand opening date will be announced in the coming months.
